Best Back/Mids would be Goddard, Hodge and Kelly (Kelly will be back in the midfield this year)... Even Gram is looking very good this year! I have toyed with Goddard in my midfield as one of my premiums, but i just feel dirty doing it! lol

I'm going to pick 1 multi position midfielder. To cover for a forward.

Strategy is that I want to conserve my trades during the 1st 8-10 weeks until I can cash in my rookies and start upgradding my team. My concern is the lack of reliable forward and back rookies and that if i get an injury that I might be forced to make a trade to avoid a doughnut.

The particular player in question is Higgins. This also allows me a much larger range of players that I can use if someone gets injured in the forward line or midfield as I could park my injured player in the forward or backline

The only downside I see is that I don't get any injuries to the forwards or midfield and that i've wasted a position that I could have used to upgrade to a Swan or Ablett. If thats the only downside I'm happy to accept it.

There are not many quality Back/Mid options that I'm happy with so I'm not going there.

Any thoughts?

Dlow, I think I'll trade into the dual position rule if I use it at all. I've got plenty of forwards and backs who are mid eligible (not by design, a lot of my picks just happen to be mid eligible as well).

I'm hoping Mitch Farmer doesn't start the year with Richmond, but comes in later. He'd be a great midfield downgrade, who is also back eligible. Trading him into the mids would allow good flexibility. Couldn't start him in the mids if he was playing Round 1 though. Too much choice there!

It's a rule that should only affect your team later in the year when you're trying to cover for injuries, so I don't think there's a pressing need to go all out on this rule from Round 1, but just have it in the back of your mind as you start trading.

The AFL site does NOT have any useful DT tips or DT advice, but it does have some brilliant information for us.

I'm a big fan of watching the coaches post game press conferences on the AFL website. The coaches are often asked about their thoughts on young players. There is no better way to determine how likely the youngster is to play in the seniors than asking the senior coach himself!

Any of you guys thinking of using MPP rule this year?

Was not going to use it at all this year but have re-though my options and considering using it to cover for injuries
