Apologies Dan - was at work when i wrote that comment and was talking off my head rather than stats sheet. But still everything else i said applies - i think he is a great pick as his 86 and 80 in the last two NAB matches show.

Also, as hoped, Brodie Moles has now been officially elevated onto the senior list ( http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/90788/default.aspx ) which suggests he is very likely to be named round one. Definitely could be a good selection!

Harbrow played full games in every week of the NAB Cup, except Week 2 when he was subbed off at half time, so his TOG wasn't THAT low.

I see him as an 80-85 average as his ceiling. He'll pull the occasional 100, but priced at 75 he's a decent chance to get that 5-10 point improvement you need for him to be value.

Music to my ears Toby. I've had him in and out and his last two weeks were very encouraging. I've been trying to really consolidate him in my mind and you've finally tipped me over. I was unaware how much game time he has been playing so that was an extremely nice piece of information

I'm confident he can at least replicate last year's average which will make him a nice pick still.

Bring on the 2010!!

Hey murph, sorry for the late reply- I reckon harbrow is a great smoky pick! And I'm hugely tempted myself! He showed last year a coming of age, but certainly hasn't peaked! His scores got better through the year, so you're really paying under the odds for him! Also, I believe gilbee will always be the first tagged bulldogs defender and maybe harbrow occasionally. Harbrow is renowned for his speed and ability to get the ball through traffic, whereas gilbee has a punishingly accurate kick. As an opposition coach, I would always tag gilbee first due to his ability to kick.
Harbrow is more likely to just get the ball and run it out, often meaning more disposals. Also worth noting is that his nab series was better than the stats let on- I think he only played a full game once, suggesting his scoring potential is going to between 80 and 100 most weeks. Another point is that unlike gilbee, harbrow will generally play on a man, meaning it is more likely his opposition will try and hurt him by kicking goals and making him accountable than actually tagging him.
And one cannot underestimate the value of stocking up on players from winning teams, especially the dogs, saints and Geelong as they are the best dt teams in the comp. I am currently trying to find more room in my team for these players...

In summary, I believe he is a great pick at a good price with ample room for improvement.

Does this help murph?

Footy tragic team?
What are the chances of Harbrow being tagged (provided the few i mentioned above play)? Why is he more tag-worthy than Hargrave?

How do you think he will score this year? I think he is a unique pick

Harbrow is so easily stopped though, any tagger (not even the teams best) and his supply stops.

Views on Harbrow? It is unlikely Harbrow will be tagged with Gilbee, Cooney and Higgins all in the side.
Lifted his game last year and i watched him carefully. Can he increase his average 5-10 ppg this year?
