Hey Blackwidow, i’d be pretty nervous putting him in my team… Coming into the pre-season he was certainly on my watch list, but the fact he only played one NAB game (and not extremely well, i might add!) has totally crossed him off my list! There is still a chance he could come good, but im not going to give a spot in my team to a player who has shown me nothing in the pre-season.

What are your guys opinions on Broadbent, i need a defender around the $150k to $200k area. I have Malceski and hunt but dont want ladson or kennelly as everybody has them. I was thinking broadbent, schoenmakers or greenwood? Is Boradbent guaranteed a game? any others you know of, looking for a smokey…

Pearce could well get the #1 tag still (easy to shut down pearce). I just dont know if boak is a DTer (not enough marks around ground). For his price you would want him to be a keeper which in the midfield means a 105 avg at minimum.

I think Boak has been overlooked and underrated as both a dream teamer and a player since being drafted. In a draft with the likes of Gibbs, Joel Selwood, D Armitage, Leuey, Tippett, and with most of these guys going great guns, it seems like Boak has again slipped off the radar for most. He was a great point of difference for me last year, until he got injured mid-season, and I am keen to pick him up again this year.

I too have my doubts over his getting the number one tag now. Hopefully with the Power doing well in the NAB we might be able to get some idea of how he will handle the increased attention? His new level of fitness is a plus and should help him shake it, but he does know how to get the footy

Dan, completely agree, i would only consider hitchcock in SC not in DT. Problem is the forward rookies are looking as bare as the back rookies.

TDL knee is a worry, podsiadly is KP so maybe a 50 avg at best, not secure in 22, grant is just crap, gumbleton as always, rohan possibly not 22, might need time to develop (and doesn’t look like a DTer).

Chad, Wade was kicking goals in the pre-season last year too. I’m not saying Hitchcock will definitely flop like that, but it’s just a feeling I can’t shake. Also, if those goals do dry up (let’s face it, it’s a position where they can dry up) not only will it effect his points, but also his job security.

At present have Banner, Lobbe, A Moore and Daniel Stewart all on the benches but will probably trade last three as I’m very concerned they other 3 won’t see much game time - if any!

Will be interesting to see how banner goes with Boak and Gray in the midfield (how much time does he get?) and how he goes against better opposition. Looks a lock though.

Wade thompson was all about pace and forward line pressure, hitchcock does this, plus he had ability to kick goals.

Wish i had the stones to pick westhoff, he looks good around the ground.

When looking at Cam Hitchcock I can’t get Wade Thompson out of my head. Slippery goal sneak ripping up the pre season for Port. If goals dry up where are his points going to come from?
