  I’m absolutely rapt with the inclusion of Michael Quinn. I was heavily critised for bringing him in earlier in the season, but I now feel vindicated. What’s more, the timing couldn’t be better!

  I just need Sylvia to make the final 22 and I’ll be cooking with gas this week, with a full squad of 22 players with 3 emergencies (yes 3)!

  How many donuts out there this week?

  one donut this week (voldt) but hopefully he is back next week.

  Would expect the overall average this week would be down a bit.

  Was hoping to get Jack Steven next year :( he might be too expensive now.

  There is a lack over the off season and many tragic’s (yes me) need their fix :)

  Another fantastic show fellas.

  I cannot wait for the weekend to begin. I face an interesting battle after finishing 5th in my private league and therefore facing elimination.

  However, i’m VERY confident that’ll I’ll have a comfortable victory (despite losing to my opponent in a close battle earlier in the year and also being shat on by selection last night).

  Basically, my squad is simply stronger accross the board.

  I keep reminding him – there’s no point, “winning the battle, only to lose the war”.

  Sam Fisher and Dal Santo are rumoured to be late exlusions also…

  I’m looking to use 2 of my 4 remaining trades this week, and try to hopefully avoid some donuts.

  Skippy > Rioli
  Higgins > Anyone (Thinking Didak/Davis/Brown)

  Any help on the last query?

  Hopefully this move, whist probably not wise in the league aspect may push me further into the top 1000, and hopefully into the top 500 this week.

  0 donuts if 1 of Burgoyne or Rance play.

  Sorry to say Lenny – Fisher confirmed out. Regarding Dal Santo – from the horses/(Lyons) mouth:

  “At this stage Dal is planning to play.”

  Emergencies from David Armitage, Colm Begley and Nick Heyne, one of which to be used to cover Fisher.

  Dan, being the “expert on all the young talent”, what do you think of St Kilda’s Paul Cahill as a chance to play next year?

  I gotta say, I rated Paul Cahill a lot higher than he ended up getting drafted last year (I think I had him in the 30′s from memory). Our expert on all things St.Kilda (Toby) isn’t as enthused though. Apparently he’s only just got out of Sandy reserves and isn’t exactly setting the world on fire. I think he’s got a great set of hands, but the drawback is that he’s probably a bit too one dimensional.

  I haven’t seen him play at all this year, so I can’t really rate his progress since leaving the junior system, but I quite liked him.

  I can cover Sam Fisher with Michael Quinn.

  The timing of the Irishman’s return to the Essendon side is absolutely first class. I take my hat off to the young man.

  It’s up to Quinn now to see if he can do enough to hold his place the following week with Goddard and Fisher to return.
