Kieran BJ,

You raise a very interesting point about the Gold Coast and the introduction of the bye in 2011.

I actually think it will make dreamteam even more strategic because the smart dreamteamers will be able to manipulate the system e.g. not picking players who play for teams that have the bye in the first 4 rounds, then bring them in after the bye.

I'm also very interested to see how the pricing of the Gold Coast players will work. Those of us who conduct due diligence on the Gold Coast players at VFL level in 2010, will be rewarded.

Boys, i can almost guarantee that Bailey will justify this selection by saying that the Melbourne Football Club are making an example of Sylvia for his undisciplined suspension... That he needs to earn the respect back off his teammates... and that they are laying the foundations of a culture built on repspect for each other... blah blah.

At the end of the day, this is blatant tanking. Make no mistake about it.

The only thing I can think of (and I think it's VERY flimsy, don't get me wrong) is that he needed to have a run in the reserves to get some match practice.

I understand Melbourne need to tank to ensure they get a priority draft selection this year (which will be pick 1 or 2 overall), but not naming Sylvia in their best 22?

Colin Syliva is Melbourne's best player, along with Aaron Davey. I'd be very surprised if Syliva was not in the top 3 of Melbourne's best and fairest before he got suspended.

Colin Sylvia has battled manfully against the odds in a woeful Melbourne outfit in 2009. However, as the old saying goes, "it's hard to fly like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys".

Sylvia said on radio a few weeks back that he is having his best season thus far, due to being able to do a full pre - season for the first time in his career.

I'd love to hear Dean Bailey's reasons for not playing Sylvia this Sunday.

I reckon I might be trading Higgo. I don't like that Murph is 1-2 away and that Higgo is 2-3 away (and who knows with Walker?). Worst case scenario is that I cop a 0 for two weeks if none of them play in that time. I can be proactive and trade away Higgo for anyone except Chappy.

I just hate that I basically leave myself with no cover in the back line. I reckon there's every chance P.Burger has played his last game (maybe save for a farewell game) and Petrenko wouldn't be a huge chance to come back on the verge of finals. Never got to upgrade my sixth mid either. :(

Some surprising Sunday Teams:

Sylvia not named for the Dees, nor Spencer.

No Tuck for Richmond, nor Coughlan.

Dowler out for Hawks

Just on the addition of the Gold Coast.

How do we think the addition of a bye will affect Dream Team? Each week there will be one side scoring no dream team points.

What does everyone think about getting Karmichael Hunt into their dreamteam for 2011?

If he's priced at $86,600 and is listed as a back, he'd have to be a lock. I must say, this is great news for both the AFL and dreamteams!

Maybe we can even get Greg Inglis into our dreamteams for 2013 (his Melbourne Storm contract expires in 2012), given that he has also expressed an interest in joining our great game. Inglis will be 26 by Round 1, 2013.

Lenny, i am intending to keep Higgins with the hope he will be back in a few weeks. This is in the assumption that the injury is no longer than three weeks. Although Ballantyne is not as good as Higgins, he has been playing better over the past fortnight. My defense is my main concern this week with Gilbert out and Silvester and Petrenko (two bad emergency options) not even named.

Also, due to only having the one trade left, i dont want to use it frivolously - i keep asking myself, "what happens if Tippett goes down? Or Riewoldt? Or one of my other premiums i RELY on, yet do not have appropriate cover for!?"
