nice work boys. dan, how could you get peter burgoyne in, never played 22 games in his career :)

  • By Toby on July 24th, 2009 at 13:15:06

    Chad, Question for ya:

I liked (The real) Chad’s move back to the backline last week… do you think its a permanent one, and if so, what do u expect him to average whilst there?

  • By Dan on July 24th, 2009 at 13:20:57

Port have such a sexy DT run home and I know how much of a front runner P.Burger is. It’s annoying that his body has held up, but he’s just not getting picked. I don’t blame Port for that, his form had been shocking.

good show guys. keep it up.

re: jack grimes, a downgrade to the chad might be on the cards for me, do you think this is a good option? or is there a midfielder out there who deems as a more obvious choice?

Also, how likely do you think it is that GAJ won’t play, and who would be a good vice captain this week if he doesn’t make the field?

  • By Toby on July 24th, 2009 at 15:33:52

Rembrandt, Chad is a good choice… as is Hodge, Sam Fisher and Duffield… Apparently Gablett is a very good chance to play, yet i still wouldnt have him as captain, just in case! My captain this week is Swan - big game at the MCG - where he does his best work! I also like Lenny Hayes, Ryan O’Keefe or any of Judd, Gibbs or Murphy (cos collingwood dont tag!)

oh i just re-read my post …. and by midfielder i mean defender.

  • By bighughie on July 24th, 2009 at 15:43:55

Finally I’ve got 22 picked players this week. maybe I can be competitive for a change.

I’m glad I’ve made few DT/SC coach mistakes this year like trading sideways with rookies and lower priced players. Much like the Demons I’m in “list management” phase and just preparing for next season.

Fantastic show lads. It gets better every week. I was thinking, you guys should get another guest on the panel over the next few weeks. I know you’ve done this in the past and it really mixes things up well.

What about awarding some of the long time posters on the site?!? Haha.

  • By Dan on July 24th, 2009 at 17:16:09

It makes me a bit nervous, but I am definitely not making a move to cover for Grimes. I’ll take the 0 this week and I think he’s a good chance to come back next week.

I don’t buy into the hype about GAJ missing either. The articles I’ve been reading about him sound like nothing really happened. He was training, went off for a bit of treatment and came back out. Happens all the time. A scare story IMO.

  • By Chad on July 24th, 2009 at 18:03:23

Toby, i dont think Chad Cornes will play down back. I think he was there last week because Chaplin was out (with a soft suspension). Carlile, Chaplin and Thurstans probably the 3 talls down back. I imagine Chad will be in the guts, on the wing and up forward (motlop out).

  • By Dan on July 24th, 2009 at 18:05:24

Note that Chad has a great record in Showdowns.

Also that Melbourne’s final 22 has been announced and that Spencer has made it in as a sneaky emergency. Frawley and Jetta have dropped out of the 25 with Spencer and Buckley two of the emergencies.

  • By Toby on July 24th, 2009 at 18:07:08

Yeah noticed that too Ben… Also, Silvester made the cut for Richmond, but Coughlan and Rance didnt… Skippy also missed out for Essendon…

  • By Toby on July 24th, 2009 at 18:11:15

Also, Broadbent and Hartlett miss out for Port… very unfortunate!

Great suggestion I Love Lenny! As mentioned many times previously, all feedback, comments & suggestions are most welcome.

We’re always looking at ways to interact further with our loyal fans.

We’ve got a few new ideas in the pipeline at the moment. I’ll discuss your idea further with the other members of the Footy Tragic team.

    Thanks for your suggestion.

Thanks Toby, I only just read your response today, and left GAJ as captain. But it turned out quite a lucky move as Hayes was my second choice, as i don’t have Swan yet. Although Lenny’s half time DT score was 80 (my stomach sank seeing this in fear of an even bigger second half), he finished on a mere 99.

I think the show looks great, and the idea of more special guests is a good one I_Love_Lenny. In addition, maybe you could invest in some new lights, or a night vision setting on the camera after this weeks little mishap!? hehe

  • By I_Love_Lenny on July 26th, 2009 at 21:33:33

    Hey rembrandt!

It was quite amusing to see the lights shit themselves on last week’s episode. Toby just froze mid speech! Haha.

In regards to a being a guest on the panel… Where does the broadcast take place? Melbourne? If you boys record the show from any other city, i’m no chance!!! How bout everyone else? Where does everyone live? Chad? Rembrandt? Big Hughie? Dlow? Did i miss anyone?!

    Cheers

  • By Toby on July 26th, 2009 at 21:53:14

haha… yeah i had no clue wat was going on Lenny! In fairness, our lights and camera guy is hopeless (i mean, a dead donkey could do what he does!), so i blame him! But it felt like i was back at Waverley when the lights went out all those years ago! Only that James Hird wont suddenly make a late inclusion next week (unfortunately!) hehe…

  • By Ben on July 26th, 2009 at 23:17:40

The selection video is broadcast in Melbourne.

I’m confident our lighting problem from last week is a one off.

Toby is spot on, our lighting & camera guy needs to pull his socks up!

  • By Ben on July 27th, 2009 at 00:04:55

Chad, question for you please mate:

How is Matthew Lobbe coming along?

Pick 16 overall in 2007, could be a handy ruck option for 2010 at $86,000??

Lade is not getting any younger.
