Toby

Thanks for the advice.

Went for J Brown instead. With 2 trades left I was looking for someone a little less injury prone. Also leaving Cogs on the bench while I have Anthony playing. Not loosing too much in points. There is still a while to go and I'll probably have someone go down for the season in the next few weeks. When that happens then I'll have one more trade to cover any LTI.

Looks like a less risky option than putting all my eggs into 22 players not getting injured for the rest of the season - long shot...

Dlow, i quite like that option! Cogs is not to be trusted for the rest of the year, so he is worth getting rid of! And the Porps has been playing really well (See my weekly wrap)! Or another good player around that price would be Bob Murphy - see Dan's player of the week. I actually think that:

Gia --> Murphy
Cogs --> Ablett

Would be your best move!

Found a way to fit Ablett into myside.

Coughlan > Ablett
Giansiracusa > Porplyzia

What do you guys think?

Not that keen on Buddy this year - Been stone cold.

This leaves me with not much cover in the forwards.

Wright / Hogan

None in the Rucks

Jacobs / Spencer

In hind sight Hogan was not a very smart pick - Main reason was that he got picked in the 22 for the first game, then he got dropped :)

BTW found my injury - Gia knee injury out for 6 weeks.

dlow75, why would you pick Hogan, yes he was played in the NAB cup and had reasonable form but he plays for GEELONG.. fark dude that team is very hard to get a game in if you are a rookie..

Yep I agree all rookie drafted players that haven't played before and are on the rookie list should be priced at 75K. If you take the risk of picking up a rookie listed player then you should be rewared no matter where his is drafted in the rookie draft. If these guys were any good they would have been picked up in the national draft and also be on the main list.

Yeah I forgot Zeibell was that other one I missed - Went Hogan with his good pre-season form. Would have made a huge difference.

DOH

Other players like Muston didnt' work out but I don't think thats a mistake. If a player averages 100 for the first 2 weeks then you have to get on!!

It was a bit tougher with the rookie pricing this year. It's just been Top 10 with a higher price, but it was the whole first round this year and oddly the PSD and early Rookie Draft picks (no idea why).

I was glad I paid the extra coin for Ziebell and Rich. Otten was another good pick, but he's not a rookie. He played two games last season, which brought his price up a little. It worked this year to go for the $100K-$120K options, but if there's one thing I've learned it's that the same strategy doesn't necesarily work two years in a row!

Ballantyne - Disappointing
Pavlich - Ouch

Cox - You better be back next week!!!

Lucky for me I don't have Balla and Pav in my side, got Dikak in last week :)

Only got a couple of trades left and one position to fill.

Might have to go without Ablett this year - Can't afford to get him into my side this year. Damm shouldn't have traded him out!!

Thinking of getting Brad Sewell in for Cogs unless Ablett drops 50K or Cogs starts getting a game. No rush as Anthony is getting the job done for me at the moment.

Actually might think of sitting tight and waiting to see what injuries come up over the next few weeks. You know one's comming but who?

Aim to get into the top 1000. Ranked 19,770 after round 2 and 1,866 this week after scoring 2,134 with 1 zero (Cox). Climbing lots of places but i'm one LTI for ending my season.

Bigest mistake this year would be picking up Ottens. Was good value but injury prone. Next year I'm not getting any of these injury prone players except Ablett.

Chapman, Priddis, Ottens, Drummond all while averaging big numbers if you take a Zero for the games they miss takes there average down a fair bit, and thats not counting the trades you make to cover a 3-4 week injury. The other mistake is the backline - need to spend more there due to lack of depth. Used the 3 Dockers rookie strategy this year. Also get off players with interupted pre-season like Hodge and Buddy.

Also notice in my trade history I need to be a little more patient with my rookies, tended to offload when there are signs of them reaching there peak. Should know that quality rookies have a bad game now and then and can rise further. Also loadup on players playing for a top 4 side.

Humm good theory but I'm going to forget all this next year.

With this years premium price on 1st round rookies was trying not to buy premium rookies, was a mistake as I missed out on Ottens which would have been very handy. Going to pick the best rookie option next year and play with one less premium, less risk and can always trade up to a premium at a discounted price if they play a bad game.

Oh well, putting the que in the rack for the time being.

No injuries please!!!!
