‘FOOTY TRAGIC’ TV SHOW

New AFL Dream Team show for Channel 31

For those who play it, AFL Dream Team has become even more important than the sport it is based upon. In fact, with over 300,000 registered users in 2010, some may even say that Dream Team has become the sport! This is why the fan-based website, www.footytragic.com was started in 2009 – it is used as a great researching tool for avid Dream Teamers, nationwide. Now two years later, the want for Dream Team information has increased to such a point that we at Footy Tragic are taking the delivery of Dream Team news to another level. So it is with great excitement that the we can reveal that we will have our very own AFL Dream Team television show on C31 in 2011 – The first broadcast show of its kind! The show will air weekly throughout the AFL season; with a timeslot to be announced in the coming weeks. We started formulating plans for the show in mid 2010, after hearing C31 had secured a digital license. This means anyone with a set-top box in Melbourne and Geelong can now view the channel. And those living outside these areas shouldn’t worry; they’ll be able to view the episodes online at www.footytragic.com.

To wet the taste buds, the writers (Toby, Dan and Kristian) recorded a pilot episode that can be viewed now on the Footy Tragic website. In the show, the guys look at potential DT stars brought into the AFL system through the National, Rookie and Pre-Season drafts. They also discuss AFL Trade Week and the impact new AFL franchise the Gold Coast Suns will have on Dream Team and the AFL in general. To top it all off, the show also features rising star Cale Morton from the Melbourne Football Club. If the show isn’t enough, Footy Tragic will also be unveiling some extra features on the website before the beginning of the 2011 AFL Season. So stay tuned!
