Great article and good points by Dulcify et al above. For me he looked impressive on the weekend and was it Brown who was being interviewed OR something like that who said PK was the player to watch this year? So for me definitely on the radar BUT and that is a bigger but than Serena's, I expect a lot from the Lions this season and finding myself struggling to have only 3 in the team (seeing value in more of them). Maloney was in before Saturday and expect him to give value. Luey also offers value as does Rocky. Not to mention Docherty, Redden, Hanley and others who all look like improving. Don't fancy byrnes or pebbles so varcoe and him ahve real appeal, oh and maybe Jonathon Patton for a real cheapy?

Love the write up and the take on it well done Toby.

Good work Toby....my main concern with him is of course JS. My current 4/5/6 forwards are Cloke, Bird and MacAffer, for me a lot will depend on whether L/Berger is up and running. If not, Karnezis may come in for Bird thus giving me enough $$$'s to uprade Berger.

Berger is my main concern at the moment. Very happy with my team at the minute.

He fell into my team two days ago, with having that awkward amount of money left. With the vest playing part in 4 of his 7 games last year, means to me he is even more value. Could be the Suckling of 2013! I do admit my forward line looks a bit shakey with Varco, Macaffer and Karn starting. Also got Bolton in for one game til I swap him for S.Johnson. The risks can pay off!

A great left field option Toby! He hadnt come into any serious consideration for me as I already have a few Brisbane players pencilled in (Luey, Rocky, Docherty, and Moloney, Redden, Staker & Mayes also on the radar) but you put up a very good case for Karnezis especially if he can lose the vest and pick up that wing role. Brisbane are a very fantasy relevant team this year.

After Byrnes' NAB round 1 performance (not a disappointing showing but definitely below expectations), Karnezis is a timely option and could well end up in my starting squad depending on my structure and the next few pre-season performances. I generally love having a unique/roughie or two in my team to start the season.

Hopefully he shows enough to be considered best 21.

A very interesting writeup Toby! You make some very valid points there. I hadn't really considered him as I didn't think he was best 22 but you've put up some very convincing stats there.

I am currently running with 2 x mid-pricers in my fwds due to the current lack of fwd rookies and I will definitely be looking at Karnezis along with Knights, Byrnes, Varcoe and Kennedy.

As 3rdMonkey says Brisbanes opening draw is very enticing. Karnezis could be a great stepping stone to a fallen premo around rnd 6-7 if he can average 75-80...

I have Varcoe in my team at the moment but im struggling to think he will play round 1, Maybe karnezis should be in my team because of the lack of ability that is available to the lions at the moment

Hey! Toby that's great work! Nice stats and thinking outside the box. I'll have to keep an eye on him now.

Brisbane's first 6 games are also very easy in terms of DT point-scoring, so it would not be a bad idea to start with a few Lions.
